Seven Days of Swell: Day Five

Is it really Day 5 already?
FYI, I will be at the sale Saturday 3-7 & Sunday 1:30-7! Please be sure to say hi if you stop by during this time!

I really have been looking forward today. My cousin took the day off from her incredibly busy work schedule and I got to see her after a month or two (and the last time didn't count because it was D's 1st birthday and I was running around like a lunatic).

I have a party tonight & I love parties. Could really go for a glass of wine or a margarita but I will sip my diet coke and enjoy drinking the caffeine past 5 pm. I am one of those caffeine sensitive types that if I don't have enough you don't want to talk to me & if I have to much I feel like I am going to barf.

So, I limit myself to 1 cup of coffee in the morning with my favorite Chai Latte creamer (while Googling Chai creamer I found this chai latte recipe for wedding favors! How cool is that?) & mayyybbeee one can of diet come when D gets up from his nap, especially if I didn't nap.

Today: The Polka Dot Day Dress

Ok, I have to sneak one in of myself stying. I just love doing these shoots! Not only the day of but the planning that goes into it, picking out the outfits ect.

This polka dot dress is so incredibly me. It is the perfect example of how I put so much heart into all my pieces. I truly feel they speak to me! I love how it is paired with nude heels & a cream quilted chain bag.

Have you visited the Mighty Swell website today?

Seven Days of Swell: Day Four

I got to see the Mighty Swell space yesterday in Minneapolis! It is going to be the cutest. Meghan & Rae are working hard to make it fantastic!

Getting excited??

Today: The Floral Day Dress

I am super obsessed with floral print this Spring.

In other fashion news, my 3.5 month pregnant belly is looking not preggo-chic quite yet but, like I have had 5 cheeseburgers (in a row). I can still button my jeans but I am left with an awkward muffin top that resembles my post-college beer belly instead of a cute baby bump.

Solution? Belted maternity tunics I can wear with my regular jeans (for now). No sucking in required. It is not perfect but at least I don't have to sigh at myself every time I look in the mirror. My 'cousin' Beth picked up this Old Navy tunic for me a few months ago when she heard I was expecting:

She is the most insane clearance shopper you will ever meet. Find similar styles at old navy here, here & here <---floral print! I think they are great even if you aren't expecting. Never, EVER shop online at Old Navy without at least having 20% off. I always check with Ebates too because they always give you cash back! I heart cash back!

I sent Beth this picture being a show off. Yes, it was in my bathroom. Yes, it was in the morning. I know, I know.

It works.

Seven Days of Swell: Day Two

Well, the week is already flying by. I am hoping to get all my pieces loaded into the shop tomorrow! Yay, too excited! Top Drawer Vintage's sneak peek photos are up on Mighty Swell's Facebook page. I am lurking them & hoping to get some 'likes' and good comments. Sarah (photo) & Audrey (model) did such a great job. I am so proud of the photos and hope the pieces are received well.

Today: The Checker Print Bombshell Dress

This piece does not read bombshell at all on the hanger but Audrey rocked it! I added the red belt to make the dress pop a bit.

Also, be sure to check out Jill's Mighty Swell blog post at Spoils of Wear. She gives basic info on the event and also gives a little background on all the shops who are vending at the sale! Thanks Jill!

Top Drawer Vintage Fashion Preview Spring 2011

The Happiness of Being a Vintage Obsessed Super Mom

My son makes the best shopping partner. Everytime we go out I am amazed by what a good boy he is and how much fun we have together in the store. Granted getting around takes twice as long & I always before to pick up what I absolutly need first in case there is an unusual meltdown. Which is unusual but it can happen. Usually, we have about an hour and a half window before I start asking him "are you getting wiggly David?". Which means, is it time to go home? I am going to miss just the two of us towing around town. I can't even imagine shopping with two but I will learn!

I have been excitedly stocking up for this Spring's Mighty Swell Sale. I have aquired so many more amazing pieces and I can't wait to share them with all of you. Any leftover items will be listed in my Etsy Shop of course. I have really let that baby run dry over the last few months! Here are a few bags and belts I picked up this afternoon:

1. Cream Quilted Metal Chain Bag - Similar
2. Red Bow Clutch - Similar
3. Cream Pleated Clutch - Similar
4. Navy Quilted Clutch - Similar
5. Blue Belt - Similar
6. Grey Belt - Similar
7. Tan Stretch Belt - Similar
8. Metal Stretch Belt - Similar

Last night my photographer and good friend Sarah Meyer came by with a new model Audrey. I am so freeeekin' excited at how the pictures turned out. Seriously, best pieces, best model, best photographer. I have big dreams with these girls. I swear my mind goes about a mile a minute when I see the results of such hard work. Of course, I am a sucker for beautiful vintage. I just can't wait for you to see it. Here is a little peeky at the photoshoot yesterday:

Sarah Meyer shooting for Top Drawer Vintage.

As you can see my blog has taken several makeovers in the past few weeks. I find myself wanting to talk about more than vintage in my blog. As a super happy stay at home Mom, I feel like sharing my triumphs and dissapointments that come with raising my son and running the household. I am trying to incoorperate a lifestyle into my blog. Being that I can be good at working from home, doing what I love, raising my children & taking care of my husband. I am blessed it is a choice I have and being a homemaker is the right choice for me. It is what makes me happy. And, if on the side, I can be a vintage enthusiast and style amazing shoots and meet amazing MN fashionistas (here, here, and here). Then life is daaammmmnnnnn good.

Obsession: Floral Print

1. Floral Maxi Dress $48.00
2. Floral Mini Dress  $17.80
3. Floral Short $14.80
4. Floral Sunglasses $10.50
5. Floral Oxford $22.80
6. Floral Satchel $66.00

Just like a little leopard, I love a little floral! This season really gives us some room to step out of the box and showcase floral in accessories as well as clothing.

I picked up a pair of floral drawstring shorts this evening from Marshall's! Hoping to pair them with some black tights and a soft tee.

How do you wear your floral?
