Calico Print Quilted Vest

The camera does not love me today. Maybe because my hair is still a little wet. Maybe because I had pasta, nacho, cake & pizza yesterday. I vote for the latter.

This Calico Print Quilted Vest has been relisted in my Etsy Shop for only $7.

Not a huge fan of these Levi Curvy Skinny Jeans but they are my lounge pair. They are supposed to fit like a skinny jean but I bought them a size up so they fit more like a boyfriend jean. I have a bit of a bum and the 'curve' in the jean actually makes them sag in the rear after an hour or so of wear.

I love, love my blue Minnetonka Moccasin Thunderbird Soft Sole. However, they don't have rubber on the bottom so I cannot wear them in the winter very well. So sad.

Lookbook: High Waisted Skirt

Church on Sunday! The only day of the week I can dress up. Even though this especially snowy Minnesota winter prevents me from wearing anything but boots. Not to mention my "Mom moment" when I look down at my stockings to find a ginormo hole. After only 2 or so hours of walking around in them.

I picked up this high waisted skirt last week without trying it on. It reads a 10P and it fits so perfect it is too small. Does that make sense? I knew full well wearing it today that it would be the first AND last day I would ever wear it. So worth it none the less.

I am sure we all buy those items?

On a side note, this is my bedroom. Not that you can see much of it. I get to keep all my clothes in the upstairs closet and the hubs takes the downstairs closet in the office. This works out well considering "his" bathroom is downstairs and gets up a few hours before the baby and I do.

Above our bed hangs "And They Lived Happily Ever After". Found similar on Etsy at Patti's Primitives. I use dark brown place mats to protect our bedside tables and found lamps on sale at Wal-Mart similar to this.

Our damask stripe bedding in oak was a wedding gift and our bedroom set was a gift from my Grandparents when we moved into our new house. I remember them asking if we wanted a crib too....we had been married for 3 months and they were all ready for their first great grand baby! We made them wait a few years, though.

Lookbook: Tweed Shorts

I think tweed shorts and tights are the cutest right now. Not sure I can totally pull it off but it was fun for me to step out of my usual wardrobe box and try something different.

I am a solid size large in most Forever 21 clothing. Sort of wished I would have at least tried the mediums because the are a bit saggy in the hip and caused my cardigan to bunch up on me.

Bow-utiful?

This morning was one of those mornings where you swear the whole day is just going to turn out embarrassing. Nothing was really working out for me getting out of the house & I sort of felt like a big dirty mess. You know, those days where you are already sweating & it's 9:15 am? Yep, totally me.

I go to my Grandma's every Tuesday & I today used the line "I put this bow in my hair to distract from the mess." Aaannnnd, I think it might have worked a bit. Aaaannd, this might be my motto for my life.

I am blessed with the most amazing life. By no means, am I a perfect person. Am I deserving of such good graces? Probably not. But these days, in my old age of 28, I work to deserve the good things I get by trying to be the best possible human being I can be. While I am not perfect, I strive to be the best version of myself.

Today is a great example. I so wanted to give up. I wanted stop & sit in the middle of the living room in my 9:15 sweat and say no, I am not going to Grandma's today. Why? Because it is just too much damn work, today!

But I didn't do that. I sucked it up. I put a bow in my hair and walked out the door because that is the me I need to be. I get up & go & do & live well for the sake of my own sanity.
